Brush the sides the pot again with wet pastry brush and place the saucepan over medium heat. Cook, without stirring, until temperature reaches 238 degrees F on a candy thermometer. Remove from heat. Add, without stirring butter and vanilla. Place the pot in a large bowl containing cold water and cool the mixture to 110 ยบ F. When is cold, stir with a wooden spoon until it begins to lose its luster.

Add remaining 1 tbsp. half and half and whisk until mixture is blended. Scrape sides of pan with a rubber spatula. Let stand and harden for 5 minutes. Then, if necessary, adjust the consistency of frost by the turmoil in half and half 1 tsp. at a time until it spreads. Use immediately or cover the surface of the frost with a plastic wrap. ===== 1 can condensed milk 2 squares semi-sweet or salt spray UNSWEET chocolate 3 tablespoons water 1 teaspoon vanilla extract In a heavy saucepan combine sweetened milk, chocolate and salt. Cook over medium heat stirring rapidly until chocolate melts thickens Remove from heat add water and cook the vanilla and stir until thickened again quickly cool for 10 minutes.
